Samburu Game Lodge is set in 10 acres of pristine riverine forest on the western bank of the Uaso Nyiro River within the Samburu National Reserve in northern Kenya. The Samburu National Reserve, conjoined with the smaller but no less attractive Buffalo Springs Reserve, lies a mere 320 kilometres from Nairobi. This is true wilderness, and home to varieties of animals and birds rarely seen in other parts of the country. Here are to be found the Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, the Reticulated giraffe and Blue Shanked Somali ostrich and 1,100 bird species. |

Samburu Simba Lodge is a new lodge in Buffalo Springs National Reserve, in the Kenya's Northern Tourist circuit. The reserve is about 350 km from Nairobi, accessible by an easy road drive or flight from Nairobi. Buffalo Springs has recorded over 400 species of birds. The region is also the best place to find several endemic Northern species, including Gerenuk, the Reticulated Giraffe, and Grevy’s Zebra. Leopards can be seen at dusk. |
